When God puts His hand on a man
and calls him forth to preach
He’s given him an awesome task
of hurting souls to reach

and all life’s problems come to church
through many hurting souls
who are looking for some answers
who’ll lead them to their goals

this shepherd has a lonely task
with problems all his own
he’s careful that he seeks God’s will
sometimes he feels alone
____
with great responsibilities
a load too much to bear
his fellow servants need to know
this leader needs their prayers
____
for Satan will attack this man
destruction is his aim
in splitting apart his family
and what his ministry gained
____
so if the devil can succeed
in ruining chosen men
the body suffers from discord
and chaos reigns again
____
lift up these mighty men of God
and pray that they be safe
secure from Satan’s wretched plan
and stand by them in faith
